Privacy

We ask for as little as we can, and this page says exactly what happens to it. There is no tracking, no advertising, and nothing here is sold or handed on for anyone else's purposes.

The contact form

The form is the only place on this site where we ask you for anything. It has four fields: your name, your email address, your company (optional) and your message.

When you send it, two emails go out through Postmark, our email provider:

• One to us, with everything you wrote. Its Reply-To is set to your address, so answering you is one click rather than a copy-paste.
• One to you, confirming the message arrived. It deliberately repeats none of your text — not your message, not your name — because it goes to an address you chose rather than one we already knew.

Why we may do this. Our legitimate interest in answering someone who has contacted us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your message is about working together, handling it is also part of taking steps towards a contract.

How long we keep it. Enquiries stay in our mailbox for 24 months and are then deleted. If we begin working together, the correspondence becomes part of the client record and follows that retention instead.

We do not store submissions in a database. There is no CRM behind this site, and your message is not added to a mailing list — there is no mailing list.

Spam and abuse

The form carries a hidden field that a person never sees, and a check that the form was on screen for at least two seconds. Both are invisible to you and neither is recorded.

We also count submissions per IP address, up to five an hour, so the form cannot be used to send mail on someone else's behalf. That count lives in the server's memory for at most an hour, is never written to disk, and is not connected to what you wrote.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages get read and how quickly they load.

Neither sets a cookie, neither builds a profile, and neither follows you to other sites. What comes back is aggregate — page paths, referrers, country, device type, loading measurements. We cannot identify you from it, and we do not try.

We do not use Google Analytics.

Cookies

This site sets none. That is why you were not asked to accept any.

The one exception is not yours: our own editors get a session cookie when previewing unpublished drafts. It is set only after they sign in, and never for a visitor.

Server logs

Our host, Vercel, records requests to the site — ordinary web-server information including IP address — in order to run and secure it. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.

Who else handles data for us

• Vercel — hosting and analytics
• Postmark — sending the two emails above
• Sanity — the CMS this page is stored in. It holds our content, not your data.

Vercel and Postmark are US companies, so a message you send us is processed outside the EU. Those transfers are covered by the safeguards in our agreements with them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to receive it in a portable form. You can object to processing we base on legitimate interest, which is everything described under the contact form.
